Area players named to the MAC (Mississippi Association of Coaches) All-State Team were first teamers C’Tavious Williams of Kosciusko High at guard and Brooks Warren of French Camp Academy at punter. Second teamers were Kosciusko Whippet Robert Dawson at free safety and Durant Tiger Kentrell Luckett at kick returner.

The Kosciusko Whippets improved to 6-5 last week while the Lady Whippets improved to 5-6. The Whippets defeated Amanda Elzy 50-40 on Friday night, lost 70-49 to Neshoba on Saturday and crushed Richland 66-44 on Monday night.

Whippet hoops

The Whippets improved to 4-3 on the year while the Lady Whippets stayed one game below .500 at 3-4 after back-to-back contests with Amanda Elzy and Kennedy on Friday and Saturday. The Whippets won both contests, defeating Amanda Elzy 52-31 on Friday and Kennedy 74-55 on Saturday.
