Lady Whippets start strong

Kosciusko Fastpitch got off to a strong start over the opening weekend with two blowout wins over Ethel and Choctaw Central, 10-1 and 11-1 respectively. The wins pushed the Lady Whippets to 2-0 on the season with strong efforts at the plate and on the mound.

Tigers sweep Irish

It did not take long for the new scoreboard to light up at Ethel High School as Tyson Steen hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The Ethel Tigers never looked back as Blake McKinley struck out eight Greenville St. Joe Irish in just three innings to cruise to a 12-1 victory.

Lady Dogs advance

The McAdams Lady Bulldogs, 18-10 overall, advanced to the Class 1A Quarterfinals on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Jackson State University after defeating Salem 81-56 this past Friday night. The Lady Bulldogs will take on Vardaman with a chance to advance to the semifinals on March 7 to play the Shaw/Nanih Waiya winner at 10:30 a.m.

Lady Whippets sweep Region 4

The Lady Whippets finished the regular season with three consecutive Region 4 wins over Leake Central last Tuesday night, Noxubee County in a make-up game on Thursday night and finished Germantown off on Friday night by scores of 55-50, 52-29 and 42-37 respectively.
