McAdams ends season in state tourney
The McAdams Bulldogs finished their season this past Saturday with a second round loss to Leake County by a score of 68-61. The Bulldogs entered the second round of the MHSAA Class 1A State Playoffs after defeating Sacred Heart last Tuesday night by a score of 70-58. McAdams finished with a 12-15 overall record.
Durant Lady Tigers in semifinals
The Durant Lady Tigers defeated Salem by forfeit in round one of the MHSAA Class 1A Playoffs last Monday night before defeating Vardaman on Thursday by a score of 68-52. The win over Vardaman earned the Lady Tigers a berth in the quarterfinals against Pine Grove on Thursday at 4 p.m. Pine Grove is 31-3 on the year while the Lady Tigers are 18-5 overall.
Tigers, Lady Tigers started Tuesday
The Ethel Tigers baseball team and Lady Tiger fastpitch team began their seasons this past Tuesday night after weekend rainouts. The Tigers played Central Holmes at Holmes Community College the Lady Tigers traveled to East Webster. The Tigers will then play Amanda Elzy at Winona on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. before hosting Central Holmes on Friday at 4 p.m. The Will then play JZ George and Kirk Academy on Saturday at Winona beginning at 12:45 p.m. The Lady Tigers will host Winona on Friday at 5 p.m. and Nanih Waiya on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Dixie Youth Registration
Dixie Youth Baseball registration continues. Registration forms can be found at the Hugh Ellard Park office from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The cost is $75 per player and $140 for two or more. For further information contact Todd Ables at 662-289-7932.

AJGT Title Junior Classic announced
Junior golfers ages 11 through 18 years are invited to compete in the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour (AJGT) True Title Junior Classic in Springfield, LA at the Carter Plantation Golf Club on March 3 and 4. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and hosted by the AJGT. The tournament entry fee is $195 and includes two days of green fees, tee gifts and trophies in four age divisions.
