The Kosciusko Whippets and Lady Whippets both dropped contests to Louisville last week but rebounded nicely with wins over Caledonia on Friday night. The Whippets are now 17-6 overall and 4-3 in Region 4-4A play while the Lady Whippets are 14-9 overall and 4-3 as well.
The Whippets fell behind early to Louisville and trailed 33-24 after three quarters of play but battled back to tie the contest at 47-47 to force the game into overtime. The Whippets could not find the basket in the overtime period and dropped the contest to the Wildcats 51-58. The leaders for the Whippets in the contest were Johnny Forrest with 14 points and five rebounds and Stefan Harmon with 15 points and seven rebounds.
The Lady Whippets dropped their contest as well to the Lady Wildcats by a score of 47-38 and were led by Feria Mays with 15 points and six rebounds.
Caledonia came to Kosy on Friday night, though, and both the Whippets and Lady Whippets rebounded with nice wins. The Whippets won their contest against the Confederates 48-33 and the Lady Whippets crushed the Lady Feds 47-15.
The leaders for the Whippets were Forrest with 19 points and Calvin Banks with 11 points. The Lady Whippets leader was once again Mays with 15 points.
The Whippets hosted Houston on Tuesday night and will travel to Noxubee on Friday night for a 6 p.m. contest.
