The Kosciusko softball team lost one game last week due to an apparent umpire shortage.
The Lady Whippets lost two more games on Saturday due to the weather.
But in the one game, Kosciusko did actually take the field, the Lady Whippets showed out.
Kosy got a complete-game shutout from Katie Mitchell and rolled to a huge 9-0, division win over homestanding New Hope last Thursday to improve to 15-2 on the season.
The Lady Whippets did not get to play at Caledonia due to the umpire shortage last Monday and had a doubleheader rained out at Senatobia on Saturday.
This week, the Lady Whippets were scheduled to host Louisville on Tuesday before entertaining Leake Central on Thursday and Lake on Friday.
Next week, barring any makeups, Kosciusko is scheduled to go to Nanih Waiya on Monday (April 16) before hosting Noxubee County on Tuesday (April 17). The postseason begins next weekend.
Mitchell threw all seven innings at New Hope last Thursday, walking two and allowing just two hits while striking out five.
