The Lady Bulldogs defeated Sacred Heart 81-39 on Monday night in round one of the MHSAA Class 1A Playoffs and will travel to Region 6-1A No. 1 seed West Lowndes for round two on Friday night at 7 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs moved to 19-8 overall after picking up a Region 5-1A Tournament win last week and the playoff win on Monday.
In the Lady Bulldogs first game of the Region 5-1A Tournament they took on the Ethel Lady Tigers who had defeated French Camp in the first round last Tuesday night. McAdams defeated Ethel 59-26 and were led by Santisja Rockett with five points, two rebounds, four assists and one steal; Ke’Mara Atterberry with six points, nine rebounds, four assists and five steals; Jakyra Young with 19 points, one blocked shot, three rebounds and five steals; Kiara Brown with eight points, two rebounds, two assists and six steals and Kneisha Erving with 17 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots.
On Friday night, the Lady Bulldogs dropped a 79-62 decision to Durant after trailing 30-25 at the half. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Atterberry with 27 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocked shots; Young with six points, three rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot; Brown with four points, six rebounds and two assists and Erving with 18 points and nine rebounds.
In Monday night’s 81-39 playoff thumping of the Sacred Heart Lady Crusaders, the Lady Bulldogs were able to take a 40-18 halftime lead and never looked back. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Atterberry with 10 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and six steals; Haley Perteet with five points; Iyanla Malone with five points and one assist; Young with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, six steals and three blocked shots; Brown with nine points, nine rebounds, two assists and four steals; Erving with 26 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots and Cavian Bolton with six points, three rebounds and three steals.
