The French Camp Academy Football team hopes to get on the winning side of things Friday night when the Panthers play host to Montgomery County at 7 p.m.
Both teams will be looking for their first of the season, with Montgomery being 0-3 and FCA 0-4. Last week the Panthers dropped a road contest to Sebastopol 21-0, while the MCHS Hornets were run over by McAdams 54-6.
Montgomery County has been outscored 140-20 in its three games with the other two losses coming to Winona (55-6) and J.Z. George (41-8). French Camp has yet to score more than two touchdowns in a game this season with losses being to Winona Christian (39-12), Eupora (40-7), Winona (41-6) and last week to Sebastopol.
The homestanding Bobcats scored touchdowns in each of the first three quarters against FCA on Friday, taking a 7-0 lead on a 41-yard run by Gerrand Bobbitt in the first quarter. Jazuez Lee was good on all three of his extra-point kicks for the winners.
Sebastopol stretched it out to 14-0 with 1:19 left until halftime when Jeremiah Ickom scored on a 9-yard run and picked up its final touchdown of the third in the third quarter on a 13-yard pass from Bobbitt to Ethan Tharp.
Freshman Kendall Coleman rushed for 73 yards on eight carries to lead FCA, breaking off a 41-yarder in the process. Gage McGlothin had three carries for 20 yards for the Panthers, while Aaron Witt rushed the ball five times for 17 yards.
Two FCA quarterbacks combined for one completion in eight attempts, with Witt making that one catch for eight yards.
Ickom led Sebastopol with 98 rushing yards on 10 attempts, while the Bobcats as a team rushed for 292 yards on 45 attempts.
Coleman led the Panthers with 10 tackles, while Skylyr Effler had nine stops, with Witt recording eight and Andrew Miller and Zac Gilmer picking up six each.
