Kosciusko baseball team took in a preseason jamboree tune up in last Monday’s Pearl Classic contest against Jackson Academy. The Whippets dropped a 3-2 game to the Raiders.
Kosciusko had scheduled games against Greenville and Grenada, but poor field conditions due to the heavy rains that battered the area forced the postponement of those two contests.
Kosciusko defeated Greenville 9-3 in a make-up game Monday, and it will make up its game against Grenada on March 29.
The Whippets were hosts to Ridgeland on Tuesday and West Point on Thursday before playing Choctaw County at Winona High School on Friday.
The defending Class 4A state champion Lady Whippets were set to open their preseason in the in a classic, but the annual tournament was rained out, forcing Kosciusko to reschedule.
The Lady Whippets will make up one of those games when Choctaw County visits Kosciusko on March 7, and they will make up their other game with the addition of an opponent on the March 15 Northeast Mississippi Community College tournament.
Kosciusko was to travel to Choctaw County Tuesday and hosts West Lauderdale Thursday. The Lady Whippets have a pair of Saturday games at Cleveland Central.
