The Kosciusko Lady Whippets dropped two games last week, one to Neshoba Central on Thursday night and the other one to Choctaw County on Friday.
In Thursday night’s 11-0 loss to Neshoba Central, Katie Mitchell got the start and pitched five innings, allowing six hits while striking out two. Maddy Gilmore pitched the final two innings and allowed two hits while striking out one hitter. The offensive leaders for the Lady Whippets were Madeline McCown with two singles and Katie Lawrence with a single.
In Saturday’s eight-inning affair against Choctaw County Lawrence drew the start and pitched 7.2 innings, allowing eight hits while striking out four. The offensive leaders for the Lady Whippets were Josie Meggs with a run scored; Mitchell with a single and one run scored; Maddy Gilmore with a single and one run scored; Kelly Hood with two singles and McCown with a single.
The Lady Whippets will host Nanih Waiya on Thursday at 5 p.m. before traveling to Louisville on Friday for another 5 p.m. contest. Kosciusko will then play Choctaw Central and Oxford on Monday before playing Bogue Chitto and Pontotoc on Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday times TBA.
