Kosciusko powerlifters Paul Wood and Colton Crosby will represent Kosciusko at the North State championship, for which a time and date will be determined at a later date.
“They have worked extremely hard, and I couldn’t be more proud of them,” Kosciusko powerlifting coach Jamario Winters said.
Wood, a senior, lifted 1,270 pounds in the 308-pound weight class over the weekend in the Region 4 meet.
“Paul was injured last year and couldn’t compete,” Winters said. “He came back and worked his butt off to get here, so I’m proud of him.”
Crosby, a tenth-grader, lifted a total a 670 pounds in the 132-pound weight class this past weekend in the Region 4 tournament.
“It was Colton’s first year lifting last year, and he didn’t make it; he lost in our district meet,” Winters said. “He told me before he left, he said, ‘Coach, next year, I’m going to make it.' They have had a heart-of-a-champion attitude. They’ve worked extremely hard.”
