Last Thursday was a busy one for the Kosciusko athletic department, as the Whippets wrapped up their 2018 spring football workouts with jamboree action at Charleston.
That came on the same day the Kosy baseball team was beginning play in the Class 4A North State championship series at New Hope – and the same day the Lady Whippets’ fast-pitch softball team was starting the Class 4A state championship series in Hattiesburg.
The Kosy football squad ventured to Charleston to take on the host Tigers as well as Lake Cormorant. Although no official score was kept in the two-quarter games,
Kosciusko would have emerged victorious – scoring multiple touchdowns in both match-ups.
It wrapped up a busy spring for the Whippets, who had a host of players get attention from visiting colleges over the last few weeks. Among those was sophomore-to-be wide receiver/defensive back Antonio Harmon, who picked up an offer from Mississippi State.
The Whippets are coming off a 3-9 season in which they finished strong, shaking off an 0-6 start to make the Class 4A state playoffs.
