Fans will get their first look at the 2019 version of coach Kelly Causey's Kosciusko High School football team on Saturday as the Whippets take on Cleveland Central at 1 p.m. at the 2019 Starkville High School Football Spring Jamboree.
Kosy, which finished the season at 3-8, are looking to build on last season's first-round appearance in the MHSAA Class 4A.
Kosy's match-up with Cleveland Central is the second game of the day. Saturdays action begins at 11 a.m. when Gentry takes on Shannon. The 3 p.m. contest has New Hope taking on Choctaw County, while Noxubee County battles Kemper County at 5 p.m.. The day is set to close out with defending MHSAA Class 4A State Champion Louisville taking on Lanier at 7 p.m.
There are also two games set for Friday. The 5:30 p.m. contest is between Neshoba Central and Itawamba AHS, while Starkville and Greenwood face off at 7:30 p.m.
Each "game" is made up of three quarters of varsity action followed by a 20-minute junior variety match-up played with a running clock.
Admission is $5 for all games.
