The Kosciusko tennis program enjoyed a strong showing at the Region 4-4A district championship Friday that resulted in six players claiming district titles.
Karla Nash and Javonte Ragsdale won the Region 4-4A doubles district title; Lakelynn Fancher and Madison Autry claimed the Region 4-4A title in girls doubles and Ben Brunt and Kody Causey finished in second place in boys doubles.
Nash, Ragsdale, Fancher, Autry, Brunt and Causey will compete in the MHSAA tennis championships April 29-March 1 in Oxford.
As a team, Kosciusko finished No. 2 in Region 4-4A behind New Hope.
“Out of the kids we’re sending to state, four of the six kids are seniors,” Kosciusko tennis coach Lauren Peresich said. “I just feel like they’ve worked really hard for this all year.
We have probably six or seven seniors, so sending the majority of those seniors to state is something they’ve been working on all year, and it’s just something to be proud about.”
