The Kosciusko Whippets and Lady Whippets competed in the Starkville Invitational over the weekend.
New Hope 73, Whippets 63
A fourth quarter rally came up short for the Kosciusko Whippets (5-2) as they fell to New Hope in the Starkville Thanksgiving Invitational last week.
New Hope started fast with a 23-15 first quarter and a 20-12 second. New Hope added to their lead with a 19-16 third quarter, which would be followed with a 20-11 Whippet run in the fourth.
Neshoba Central 56, Lady Whippets 26
The Kosciusko Lady Whippets saw an early exit in the Starkville Thanksgiving Invitational last Saturday with a 56-26 loss to Neshoba Central.
The Lady Rockets started fast with a 20-11 first quarter, followed with a 16-1 second to grab a double-digit lead at the half. Neshoba Central continued to dominate in the second half with a 9-5 third quarter and an 11-9 fourth to seal the win.
Feria Mays led Kosciusko (4-3) in scoring with 10 points, while Alexis McBride had nine. Alexis McBride led with four rebounds and three assists, while Makenzie Horrall added four boards.
