The Whippets went 3-0 last week to improve their winning streak to five games and move to 9-3 on the season.

"I thought we did OK," Whippets coach Jonathan Jones said. "We didn't swing it as well as I would have hoped for all three games, but we did come out with victories in all three. We found a way to win, and that was positive."
Whippet batters erupted for 10 hits in the Kosciusko 12-1 win against Scott Central in Game 2 last Friday.
Kosciusko used a 10-run first inning to inflict its damage. Nunn, Scott, Parker, Black, Roby and Morgan tallied RBIs in the frame.
Nunn added a sacrifice fly to score Black, and Scott chipped in an RBI single to score Roby in the bottom of the third to round out the Whippets’ scoring.
Roby and Parker finished with two hits apiece. Black, Morgan, Nunn, Matthew Allen, Evan Scott and Will Cook added singles.
Morgan and Parker Ryals shared pitching duties, with Morgan earning the win. He fanned five, walked one and allowed one hit over three innings.
"We're getting some production from the top of our lineup -- a couple guys are really swinging it well, our top two, three and four guys," Jones said. "And then we're coming up with some clutch hits in the bottom five, so our lineup is extended a little bit. It's not just top-heavy. I thought our pitchers so far have thrown the ball across the plate relatively well, so that's really helped us out, and our defense has played really, really solid."
Kosciusko found itself trailing 3-0 entering the fourth inning in its final game of the week, but a four-run fourth powered the Whippets to a 6-3 win against Calhoun City on Saturday.
Roby scored on a passed ball in the top of the fourth for the Whippets’ first run. Tyler Vancise followed with an RBI single to score Morgan, and Jon Deason’s sacrifice fly plated Nunn to tie the score at three. Vanscise scored on a Calhoun City error to up the Kosciusko advantage to 4-3.
Scott swatted a two-RBI single in the top of the seventh to score Parker and Morgan.
Scott led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Parker added a stolen base.
McBride grabbed the win from the mound. He allowed eight hits and two earned runs while striking out two and walking two.
