The Holmes Community College Bulldogs (4-0 overall, 2-0 North) will hit the road on Thursday night to take on the defending National Champion Northwest Community College Rangers in Senatobia for a battle of the unbeaten. The Rangers are currently 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the MACJC North, with the winner taking, or at least tying for the division lead with East Mississippi Community College if the Lions defeat Mississippi Delta Community College in Scooba.
The Rangers are led offensively by quarterback Clay Holdersen, who is 64-of-101 through the air for 813 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions; running back Tywun Walters with 370 yards on 70 carries with five touchdowns; running back Quarderman Sloan with 334 yards on 61 carries with four touchdowns; receiver Marquisian Chapman with 15 cates for 165 yards and one touchdown and receiver Jerrick Orr with 10 catches for 165 yards.
Holmes is led by sophomore quarterback Dejerric Bryant, who is 24-of-39 through the air for 623 yards and seven touchdowns with no interceptions while running for 103 yards on 21 carries with five touchdowns; running back Cameryn Brent with 308 yards on 46 carries with one touchdown; Matt Fuller with 238 yards on 39 carries with three touchdowns; Treveiante McDaniel with 212 yards rushing on 25 carries with three touchdowns; D. J. Montgomery with 320 yards on 10 receptions and four touchdowns and Antavius Moody with 194 yards on seven catches with three touchdowns.
The defensive leaders for Rangers are Adonis Thomas with 19 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and four sacks; Willie McCaleb with 13 tackles, 5.5 TFLs with four sacks and Tito Windham with two interceptions.
Leading the Bulldogs defensively will be Jamar Smith with 23 tackles, 5 TFLs and one sack; Quindarrius Whitley with 22 tackles, 2 TFLS and 2.5 sacks; Buddy Benson with 19 tackles, 3 TFLs and one sack and Vada King with 18 tackles, 6 TFLs and three sacks.
