Kosciusko softball season ends with close losses to defending champs West Lauderdale

By Laurence Hilliard Star-Herald The Kosciusko softball season came to an end with two losses to defending 4A state champion West Lauderdale in the third round of the playoffs. The Lady Whippets lost a 1-0 pitchers’ duel in the first game at West Lauderdale and 7-3 at home in a game Kosciusko led 3-2 through five innings.

Two Kosciusko Seniors clinch medals at State Track Meet

By Laurence Hilliard Star-Herald Kosciusko senior Raven Pernell saved the best for last with a personal best 17 feet, 10 and three quarter inches to win the girls 4A long jump Monday at the state track meet at Pearl High School. It’s the fourth year that she medaled, but the first time for gold.
