The Kosciusko Attala Partnership is gearing up for the inaugural Heart of Mississippi PCA Rodeo, presented by Attala County Co-Op.
The KAP is organizing the event.
“It will be a full rodeo,” said Pati Edwards, the KAP’s coordinator of operations and special events. “It’s going to be a big show.”
The two-day event will be located in front of Dickerson Petroleum, 1 Superior Drive, on Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24.
The gates open at 5 p.m., mutton busting is at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 each, and children 5 years old and younger get in free.
The rodeo will include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, mutton busting, vendors, food trucks, calf scramble and family fun.
In celebration of the rodeo, Cowboy Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Renasant Bank parking lot. “We’re just trying to re-create the western way of life,” said KAP Executive Director Riley Hudson about the Cowboy Day festivities.
The event will include an assortment of activities for children and adults, such as live entertainment, vendors, food trucks, a petting zoo, line dancers and more.
