For some people, it’s the funnel cakes, for others, it’s the rides or the look on a child’s face after winning a prize.
The Central Mississippi Fair has become one of the most historical and popular fairs in Mississippi, drawing thousands of patrons every year.
The 107th edition of the Central MS Fair has something for everyone young and old.
Entertainment gets rolling Wednesday night with the Attala’s Got Talent contest, followed by the community sports challenge and hot dog eating contest on Thursday night. The Fairest of the Fair beauty contest will be Friday night and the headline show Battle of the Bands will be Saturday. But entertainment will be available at the Midway stage Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
On Thursday, senior citizens are invited to attend the fair, with special activities. Special activities are 9 a.m.-11 a.m. in the Attala County Coliseum.
It’s a special time, and the fair is an event guaranteed to bring the community together in fun and friendship.
The thrills of carnival rides, the excitement of children at the petting zoo, the younger set participating in rodeo events, the music and entertainment, the food found only here, the produce from area gardens shown in the Master Gardeners Showcase and the arts and crafts created by residents all come together in this one place — The Central Mississippi Fair.
The fair continues through Saturday, so make it a family affair and enjoy a great part of life in the area.
