Joel Ralph Horne, 79, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at his residence in Kosciusko, MS.
Funeral services were 11:00 am Friday, June 20, 2025, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed the funeral services at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Visitation was Friday, June 20, 2025, at Culpepper Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM.
JR is survived by his wife of 58 years Jean Plunkett Horne, sons Charles Horne (Mary Helen) and Dewayne Horne, daughter Tina Spears (Chad), sisters Anita Horne, and Shirley George, grandchildren Mykel Moore, Miranda Moore, Whitney Oliphant, Kelley Halderman, Matthew Moore, Marleigh Brewer (Darren), Blayne Spears, and Austyn Spears, and 16 great grandchildren.
He served his country for 6 years in the National Guard. He retired after 48 years of working at Burrows Paper Mill in Pickens, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gloria McClellan Richardson and Everett Wilson Horne, his brother Ronnie Horne, and sisters Linda Harrell and Joyce Taylor.
