Hunter Ray, 27, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at his residence in Kosciusko.
Funeral services are 3:00 pm Friday, November 1, 2024 at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Friday. Burial will follow in the Parkway Cemetery.
Growing up, Hunter excelled at baseball and his family spent many weekends at a ballpark watching him play. He loved the friendships that came with it as much as he did the game. Hunter loved fishing and running traps, especially with his Papaw. He planted his first garden last year using all the skills he had learned from his Papaw and had lots of fresh tomatoes. He adored his nieces and nephews and would play whatever they wanted.
Hunter spent the last few years fighting a battle that he ultimately lost. The family has peace knowing he is free and is resting in the arms of Jesus.
Hunter is survived by mother Lisa Bishop Ray, father Chuck Ray, sister Allison Johnson (Trey) of Kosciusko, brother Chase Ray (Amanda) of Starkville, grandmother Estelle Crane, nieces and nephews Charley Jane Ray, Cash Ray, Camden Ray, Tatum Johnson, and Brynn Johnson, girlfriend Kaitlin Young and her daughter Kenzie, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Bobbye Ray, Huey Bishop, and uncle Kenny Bishop.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Home of Grace in Vancleave, MS in memory of Hunter Ray.
Culpepper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
