Mrs. Wilda Beatrice Rawson Hunt, 87, formerly of Philadelphia and Koscisuko, passed this life Friday, July 21, 2017, at her residence in Forest.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery with Rev. Mark Smith and Rev. Jim Schull officiating. Visitation was Monday from 1 until 3 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband of 68 years, Howard C. Hunt of Forest; three children, James C. Hunt and spouse Cynthia, John Richard Hunt and spouse Donna Thomas Hunt, Jacqueline Hunt Huffman and husband Joe; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. two brothers, Ivy Rawson and Wade Rawson.
Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her parents, John Wilburn Rawson and Mabry Bell Ivy; brothers, Stanon Rawson, Benson Rawson and Jerry Rawson; sisters, Geralda Sanders and Erma Gay Lee.
She was born in the Dossville Community of Leake county, on may 20, 1930. She graduated from Kosciusko High School and completed business school in Memphis. She married Howard C. Hunt in 1949 in Norfolk, Va., while he was serving in the United States Navy. After being discharged from the Navy they move to Niagra Falls, N.Y. for two years before moving back to Mississippi. As a bookkeeper, she worked at Peeler Sale Barn, Attala County Sheriff’s Office, H.T. Branning Cattle Buyer, International Paper Company and ATCO Loan Company. In 1986, she moved to Philadelphia, and lived there for 25 years and to Forest, for 10 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the U.S., visiting all but four of the 50 states. She was a member of the Kosciusko Presbyterian Church, Philadephia Presbyterian Church and Forest Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers were Matt Huffman, Geoffrey Hunt, Clayton McLeod, Jason Westmoreland, Ken Rawson, Gary Rawson.
