Wanna Glynn Barrett Johnson, 90, native of Williamsville near Kosciusko, was born February 20, 1927, and passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Junior Davis will officiate.
Mrs. Johnson was a retired secretary for Allied Enterprises of Kosciusko, and as a member of Williamsville Baptist Church, she served in the choir and also as church secretary for a number of years. An accomplished seamstress and cook, she used her talents to minister to her family, church, and community. Through the years, she volunteered at the Kosciusko Information Center and the Attala Baptist Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Barrett; sister, Judy Barrett Sims; daughter, Glynda Ray Johnson Pickard; and son, Jerry Johnson.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, Betty Johnson of Ackerman; grandchildren, Jimmy R. Johnson (Jessie) of McCool, Carol Johnson, and Beth Paulk (Jeff), both of Ackerman; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Johnson of Tupelo and Dot Fowler of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family requests that memorials be made to Williamsville Baptist Church.
