Tommy Hearon, 72, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, in Jackson after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were Monday at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel in Kosciusko. Burial followed at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Goss Hearon; daughters, Sharmon Sanders (Sandy) and Ginger Cockrell (Richard); one brother, James Hearon (Martha); five grandchildren, Wil (Mollie) Sanders, Walt (Katie) Sanders, Wriley Sanders, Tanner Threadgill and Reeves Threadgill.
Tommy accepted Jesus as his Savior many years ago. He was of the Baptist faith. He was not physically able to attend church but he watched his T.V. evangelists every Sunday morning. However, Bro. Terrell Mayo of New Hope Baptist Church was his pastor.
Tommy was a hard working family man who loved Jesus and his family unconditionally. He had to retire in 2004 because of failing health. He had started his 16th year working for Attala County Beat 5 where he was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He also worked in the logging industry for many years and did over the road freight hauling.
He was a very humorous individual who kept everyone laughing with his quick wit. He told his grandchildren, no matter what your job, always do your best and never do anything you wouldn’t sign your name to. He was our go-to guy for advice and direction, the rock of our family
