Stella U. Thorpe, 88, of Kosciusko, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at The Nichols Center in Madison.
Visitation is from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, April 24, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Parkway Cemetery.
Dr. Joe Cole will officiate.
She was a member of the Kosciusko First United Methodist Church. She was a very devout Christian and loved to sing hymns to her Lord and read her Bible. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She enjoyed baking and delivering cakes and pies to people and was an avid bird watcher.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda L. (Randy) Quattlebaum of Flora; sons, J. Michael Latham and Frank J. Thorpe, both of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Melanie (Ted) Huddleston, Alicia (Billy) Thrasher, Amy (Jonathan) Parr, and Frankie J. (Ashley) Thorpe; great-grandchildren, Addy and Ivey Huddleston, Wyatt and Alicia Thrasher, Rachel and Jonathan, Jr Parr, and William Colton Thorpe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Thorpe; siblings, Howard Rasberry, James Rasberry, Calvin Rasberry, Joe Rasberry, Julia Gould, Laura Triplett, and Mae Johnson.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Parr, James S. Rasberry, Frankie J. Thorpe, Wyatt Thrasher, Ted Huddleston, and Tony Hines.
Memorials may be sent to the Flora Baptist Church Youth Program.
