Mrs. Sara Mitchell, 79, of Brandon, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ott and Lee funeral Home in Brandon and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Coleman Cemetery in McAdams.
Rev. Steve Wilson will officiate.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church. She was a retired secretary for Schwartz and Associates.
She is survived by her husband, Earl B. Mitchell, Jr.; sons, Billy Wayne Herron (Chree) and Joseph Simeon Mitchell; daughters, Cylinda Brown (Mike) and Heather Grippando (Tony); grandchildren, Shad (Mellisa) Herron, Blake Blalock, Matthew (Emily) Brown, Garrett Parker, Karlie Herron; great grandchildren, Foster and Maylee Herron; sister in law, Barbara Ellington and husband John.
She was preceded in death by parents, William Paul and Clisty Towery Overby; brothers, Johnny C. Overby, William Clyde “Bud” Overby; sister, Shirley Ann Strough.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Thomas, Mike Stiglets, Blake Blalock, Shad Herron, Garrett Parker and Matthew Brown.
