Samuel Jackson “Junior” Mitchell, Jr., 73, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home in Kosciusko.
Visitation is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Chapel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Perry Irvin will officiate.
He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Mitchell; stepson, Michael Lee Bailey of Greenwood; step-daughter, Jessie Akins of Kosciusko; three grandchildren, Jason Akins, Samuel Akins, and Callie Hughes; and a sister, Geraldine Jennings of McCool.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Jackson Mitchell, Sr. and Mary Bell Cook; one brother, and five sisters.
Pallbearers are Allen Smith, Pat Barnes, Terry Bailey, Sr., Terry Bailey, Jr., James Richer, Edward Bailey, and James Goss, Jr.
