Priscilla Ann Simmons Thayer, 82, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018.
Funeral services were held Jan. 29 at West cobb Funeral Home and Creamtory in Marietta, GA, with Dr. Robert Steele officiating. The family received friends and the funeral home the night before funeral services.
Born in Attala County, Mississippi, Mrs. Thayer moved to Marietta in 1977 from Birmingham, AL.
She was formerly a member of New Salem and Burnt Hickory Baptist churches, and was a member of West Cobb Church at the time of her passing. She also loved talking, cooking and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gary Wesley Thayer, and two children, Joe Thayer and Kristina Carroll.
Survivors include three children, Selina Thayer of Marietta, GA, Dirk (Janet) Thayer of Kosciusko, MS, and Regina (Sandy) Self of Clay, AL. two siblings, Judy (Mylza) McCrakin of Hardy, AR, and Mack Ellis of Ravendon, AR; grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
