Murlee (Boya) Hawthorne, 85, passed away March 26, 2018, at his residence.
He was born in Attala County to Rev. William Taft and Christine Hawthorne on March 22, 1933. Sisters are Lubertha Estes and Vera Hawthorne, Kosciusko, and Birdistine Brantley of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, William Hawthorne of Milwaukee, WI, Cornelius Hawthorne of Carthage, MS, Taft Hawthorne and James Hawthorne, both of Kosciusko,
MS. Also, there is a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held at Owens Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church on Saturday, March 31. Minister preaching at the funeral was Rev. Terry White. Burial took place at Hardy Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. Pallbearers were family and friends.
Myricks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
