Mrs. Martha “Sissy” Whitman Dees, age 48, passed this life Sunday, November 26, 2017, at her sister’s residence in Ethel. She was born January 24, 1969, in Canton, to George Wesley Whitman Jr. and Carol Ann Larson Whitman.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Jimmy Smith will officiate.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Baptist Attala and a member of Williamsville Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Wesley Dees and his wife, Marlaina, Phillip Steven Dees and his friend, Brooklyn Pitt, all of Ethel; one grandson, John Paul Dees; her father, George W. Whitman Jr. of Kosciusko; two sisters, Julianna Dees and husband, Roy of Ethel and Jeanette Ford and husband, Darren of Gulfport; two brothers, Michael Whitman and his wife, Becky and Paul David Whitman, all of Kosciusko. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dees and her mother, Carol Ann Whitman.
Pallbearers will be Chance Dees, Michael Whitman, Jr., Preston Barrett, Jordan Lowery, Patrick Bryant and Dylan Simmons.
