Mrs. Johnnie Mae Stonestreet, 88, of Kosciusko, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at her home on Williamsville Road.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Kosciusko City Cemetery. Rev. Barry Corbett and Dr. Roman Miller will officiate.
Mrs. Stonestreet was born September 15, 1928, to Carlos Ward and Almeda Jamison Rowell. She was a 1946 graduate of Kosciusko High School. She married Shelley Winston Stonestreet in 1947, and she was a homemaker, loving caregiver of family and friends, and a charter member of Williamsville Independent Methodist Church. She loved collecting and refurbishing antiques, and talking about history.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shelley; a grandson, Michael Lassiter; a brother, Jimmy Rowell; an aunt, Johnnie Giles; several sisters-in law and brothers-in-law.
Mrs. Stonestreet is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lassiter; grandson and best friend, Mark Lassiter; great-grandsons, Dylan Lassiter, Caleb Lassiter, and Cameron Schexnider; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ramon and Snooks Jackson; several dear nieces; and very special friends and neighbors.
Pallbearers will be David Earl Adcock, Dexter Dabbs, Ray Jackson, Michael Roy Johnson, Shannon Skeen, and Shannon Steen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tim Alford, Eddie Bell, Mike Johnson, James Nunn, Bill Pickle, Johnny Sides, J.W. Thrasher, Kenneth Westbrook, and Joe Cheek.
