Jerry Leverne Creason, Sr., 77, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, and from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday, June 10, at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Braxton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 10, at Holly Grove Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Jerry was born February 2, 1940, to Lonnie Harlan Creason and Bethea Hedgepath Creason in Simpson County. He attended Harrisville Public School. He was a truck driver who loved driving a truck. He retired in1996 after 30 years with Complete Auto Transit and Ryder Systems. He moved to Jackson where he met and married Margie Barnes, the love of his life, moving back to Braxton in 2000. He was a faithful member of Holly Grove Baptist Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jack H. Creason and Kenith Ray Creason; his in-laws, Charlie and Flora Barnes, whom Jerry loved very much and they loved him.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie; his sons, Jerry L. Creason, Jr. and Jason Scott Creason of Byram; his sister, Clara Jean "Tina" Barlow, and brother, Jimmy L. Creason.
