Jennie Brooks Jones, 86, passed away Sat. July 8, 2017, at her home in Brandon.
Visitation will be held on Wed. July 12, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 12, at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson.
Mrs. Jones, born in Attala County, was a longtime resident of Jackson, and had been a resident of Brandon since 1998. She enjoyed working with flowers, and feeding and watching her birds. Most of all she had a special place in her heart for her pet cat she named “Momma”.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her two step sons, Lamar “Marty” Dale Jones of Lakewood, Col. and Lewis Alan Jones (Julia) of Clarksville, Ark.; six step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Ellen Ramos.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Jones; two sisters, Sara Brooks and Mary Brooks Crosby and a brother, Wayne Irving Brooks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stonewall Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 122 Ethel, MS 39067.
