James Jewel Cummins, 89, of Morton, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Martha Jo Leslie Veterans Home in Kosciusko. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, at Doty Spring Cemetery.
He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include wife, Lillian Cummins of Morton; son, Jim (Vickie) Cummins of Brandon; daughters, Ann (Stuckey) Godfrey of Hoover, Ala. and Shelia (David) Bennett of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren, William and Brittany Cummins, Jason (Christine) Godfrey, Carrie (Chris) Slavich, Ryan (Tiffany) Bennett, and Jessica Bennett; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Miranda Godfrey and Hannah and Madelyn Slavich; sisters, Nadine Hughes and Mildred Mangrum; and sisters-in-law, Willie Ruth Cummins and Dolores Cummins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Selmer and Ruby Cummins; sisters, Hilda Steen and Helen McCool; brothers, A. C. “Coolidge” Cummins and Ellis Cummins.
