James Floyd Hopkins, 82, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018, at his home in French Camp, MS.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko and 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Ridge Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Oak Ridge Church of Christ with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Elihue Thompson of Kosciusko and Glenn Jarrett of Cordele, GA, will officiate.
Survivors include his wife, Voncille Boyette Hopkins of French Camp; sons, James Kevin (Melinda Thraikill) Hopkins of McCool; daughter, Cindy Hopkins (Robert) Simmons of French Camp; grandchildren, James Matthew Simmons, and Mindy (Carlos) Garcia; great-grandchildren, Mary-Kathryn Simmons, Olivia Garcia, Cristian Garcia, Isabella Garcia, and Isaac Garcia; step-grandchildren, Andrew (Mariah) Evans, Eric Evans, and Jody Evans; step-great-grandson, Cameron Jace Evans; brother, W. A. “Bill” (Jo) Hopkins of Oxford and Paul D. (Janelle) Hopkins of French Camp; sister, Mary Helen (David) Fancher of McCool; and a special cousin, Doris Childs of Greenville, MS.
He was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Keith Hopkins in 1989; and his parents, James Clay and Helen Catherine Crowe Hopkins.
Pallbearers will be Tim Fancher, Terry Fancher, Dr. Patrick Hopkins, Carlos Garcia, Matt Simmons, and Thomas Burchfield.
