J. D. Phillips, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Baptist-Leake in Carthage.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Donald Self will officiate.
He was a member of Kosciusko Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Larry (Emogene) Phillips of Yazoo County; daughters, Nan Daniels and Shirley (Ricky) Horn, both of Kosciusko; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Dean Frazier of Brandon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; daughter, Peggy Lepard; parents, Roy and Emma Burkes Phillips; brother, Dan Phillips; and sisters, Doris and Leta
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lepard, Shane Allen, Chris Dees, Reeves Shackleford, Josh Crawford, Shane Preston Allen, Nicholas Engle, Chuck Sisson and Jason Engle.
Memorials may be send to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
