Fred Lamar (Mac) McCrory, 86, of Laurel died Saturday July 1, 2017, at the Martha Jo Leslie Veterans Home in Kosciusko.
Funeral services were held Monday July 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Memory Chapel. Rev. Wade Rogers and Rev.Josh Wootton officiated. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Lillian McCrory and son-in-law, Mitch Hearn.
Mr. McCrory was a member of West Laurel Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Born and raised in Attala County, he was an auto body repairman. He enjoyed fishing, camping and working on the farm.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Adcock McCrory and they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on July 8. He is also survived by two daughters, Pam Hearn of Hebron Community and Kim Simmons (Kelly) of Stringer; two brothers, Bob McCrory of Ethel and David McCrory (Frances) of Kosciusko; one sister, Mary Burchfield of Kosciusko; two granddaughters, Daness Hearn Perkins (Billy) and Chrissy Hearn Scott (Jory); five great-grandchildren Alyssa Scott, Kolton Scott, Hailey Perkins, Ryan Perkins and Chance Perkins (Amber), and one great-great-grandchild, Mystic (Lil Bit) Perkins.
Pallbearers were Kelly Simmons, Jory Scott, Roy McCrory, John McCrory, Scott McCrory, and Bryant McCrory. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan Perkins and Kolton Scott.
Visitation was at 11 a.m. Monday at Memory Chapel.
