Floyd Lenwood McGee, 91, of Thomastown, died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was born to Floyd E. and Thelma McGee, June 1, 1923, in Collins. He was a veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient. After his military time, he was a sheriff's deputy with the Shelby County Police Department. He then retired from Trailways Bus Charters in 1993.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Cemetery.
Those surviving him are his granddaughter, Courtney, and husband, Chad Lepard, and their two girls, of Thomastown; three sons, Jim McGee, Bill McGee, and Larry McGee of Louisiana; a brother, Ben McGe and sister, Mary Alice Smith of Collins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Sue McGee; and a daughter, Kay Thompson; and his parents.
