Ethel Louise Nichols Blount, 82, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at her home.
Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at North Union Baptist Church with burial to follow in the North Union Cemetery. Dr. Ladell Blanton will officiate.
She was a member of North Union Baptist Church. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She loved her entire family.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jimmy Blount of West; son, James “Scooter” (Jennifer) Blount of West; daughters, Melinda (Paul) Cauley of Kosciusko, Lisa (Allen) Sanders of Kosciusko, Elizabeth A. “Libby” Levingston of Madison, Lea (Billy) McCool of West, Leslie (Kade) Atwood of Kosciusko; twelve grandchildren, Hope Lowe, Paula Collins, D.J. Blount, Kayla Allen, Michael Sanders, Benjamin Harman, Jonathon Harman, Hunter Harman, Andrew McCool, Alex McCool, Lyndell Suratt, and Hannah Suratt; five great-grandchildren, Macie Collins, Maddy Collins, Parker K. Blount, Haylee Sanders and Bentley Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Florence Nichols; and two sisters, Marie Ascione and Dorothy Downs.
Pallbearers are her grandsons D.J. Blount, Michael Sanders, Benjamin Harman, Jonathon Harman, Hunter Harman, Andrew McCool, Alex McCool, and Lyndell Suratt.
Memorials may be sent to North Union Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
