Earl Sims, 85, of Kosciusko, passed away Dec. 31, 2016, in Ridgeland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Junior Davis and Rev. Larry Harvey will officiate.
Mr. Sims was employed by the State of Mississippi for many years. He served as Attala County Beat 1 Supervisor and he was a local business owner. He had the gift of being a multi-talented craftsman who could devise and build almost anything. Some of his hobbies included restoring old tractors, trucks and his Ford A- Model. He was a member of Williamsville Baptist Church.
“Daddy Earl” is survived by his loving and caring spouse, Janice Cook Sims; three children, Donny Sims (Ceressa) of Kosciusko, Angie Tyler Rushing (Anthony) of McCool, Todd Tyler (Allison) of Madison; brother, Ronnie Sims; seven grandchildren, Ashlee Sims DeBusk (Mark), Annie Sims Kearney (Mat) all of Nashville, Tenn., Jason Sims of Kosciusko, Jordan Sims (Sarah) of Southaven, Angel Rushing of McCool, Evan Sims Tyler, Brett Tyler both of Madison; great-grandchild, Abby DeBusk of Nashville, Tenn. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephew and numerous lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by parents, William and Neta Sims; son, Tommy Sims; sisters, Charlotte Bane, Emily Busbea; brother, Ralph Sims.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Sims, Jeff Sims, Buzz Busbea, Earl Price, Jr., John Patrick, Craig Bain.
