Donald L. Lord died on Feb. 15, 2018 in Connecticut.
Mr. Lord grew up in Kosciusko, MS, raised his family in the Oakhaven area in Memphis and retired to Olive Branch, MS. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and enjoyed a long career as an air traffic controller at the Memphis International Airport, becoming a Data Systems Specialist in the 1970’s.
He is survived by daughters, Donna Lord and Diane Samuelsen; son-in-law, Craig Samuelsen; three grandchildren, Sonia (and Miles) Ericson, Aubrey (and Heidi) Samuelsen and Kirk Samuelsen; two great-grandchildren; and two nephews. Mr. Lord is preceded in death by daughter Lisa Lord Mistilis and wife, Verna.
The viewing will be Friday, Feb. 23, 7 to 8 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m., a memorial service will be held at Marvin Chapel Methodist Church, 5090 County Road 2247, Kosciusko, MS. Internment will be at Marvin Chapel Cemetery adjacent to the church.
Eulogy will be conducted by nephew Rev. Dr. Gerald Lord.
