David “Dakie” Collins, Jr., 70, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Meggs, Rev. Dan Baggett, and Rev. Jim Jackson will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
Mr. Collins was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Kosciusko, MS, to Raymond David Collins, Sr. and Edith Woods Collins. He was married to Cathey Loraine Brunt Collins. He was the owner and operator of Collins Bait Shop in Kosciusko for 36 years before his retirement. He was the President of the Attala County Rod and Gun Club. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Cathey Loraine Brunt Collins; his parents, Raymond David Collins and Edith Woods Collins; and his sister, Rita Fay Faulkner.
Mr. Collins is survived by three sons, James “Jimmy” Sanders and his wife Clarissa of Kosciusko, Anthony Marino Mancell and his wife Christi of Kosciusko, and Trey Collins and his wife Paula of Kosciusko; one brother, Eddie “Ebbie” Collins and his wife Brenda of Kosciusko; six grandchildren, Madison Sanders, Anna Grace Mancell, Andrew Logan Mancell, Alex Mancell, Macie and Maddy Kate Collins; a number of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
