Clovis “Faye” Ming Oakes, 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at her home.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 3, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 4, in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Brister Cemetery on Hwy 440 in Hesterville Community. Rev. Danny Townsend will officiate.
She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, where she played the piano. She was also a member of the choir and W.M.U.
Survivors include sons, Tim (Marian) Oakes of Hesterville and Brian (Debby) Oakes of FL; daughters, Janet (Frank) Robison of Hernando and Jeannie (Randy) Herod of Hesterville; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and brother, Plemon (Shirley) Ming of Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her husband just two months ago, Cecil Woodson Oakes; sister, Sherlene Bonner; parents, Ethel Plemon and Minnie Beatrice Dawkins Ming; and great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Oakes.
