Claude Willis Taylor, 69, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Laird Hospital in Newton, MS.
Funeral services were Thursday, September 27, in the church with burial followed in the French Camp Cemetery. Rev. Randy Bridges and Rev. Chris Shelton officiated.
He was a member of French Camp Baptist Church, where he served as a long-time deacon, and a previous Chairman of the Deacons. He was also the Chairman of the French Camp Cemetery Board. He was a retired draftsman for Sheller Globe, and recently retired from maintenance for the Natchez Trace Parkway. He also loved farming, taking care of neighbors and family.
Survivors include his aunt, Ruth Bright of Hernando; nephew, Michael Taylor of Greenwood; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death his parents, Leland and Gertrude Ward Taylor; and a brother, Jerry Taylor.
Pallbearers were Alvin Green, Earl Lucas, Larry Joe Moyer, Jackson Ray Ward, Marvis Braswell, and Jerry Crowder. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Stevens, Glenn Parkerson, Charles Harris, Paul Merchant, and Bobby Youngblood.
Memorials may be sent to French Camp Cemetery fund or French Camp Academy.
