Carol Ann Allen was born August 15, 1947, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Chester and Wilma Mae Barker Schexnayder. She died Sunday, December 17, 2017, in Collinsville, Okla., at the age of 70 years.
Carol completed her secondary education in Louisiana and attended Texas Bible College. She was married
November 20, 1970, in Kosciusko, to Reverend Ollie Marion Allen. She spent much of her working life as a pastor’s wife working with her husband to further the Gospel. She also cared for many children in daycare work as well as being a homemaker and caring for her family.
Serving the Lord was most important in Carol’s life as well as her church family. She was a longtime faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church and currently holds local ministerial license with the United Pentecostal Church International. At one time, she was active with a Gospel singing group.
She also enjoyed traveling to different destinations, visiting family or just seeing the sights.
Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include her three sons, Eric Allen and wife Tricia, of Owasso, Okla., Derohn Allen, of Collinsville, Okla., and Chet Allen and wife Chantel, of Denham Springs, La.; grandchildren Josh Allen, Brooke Allen, Jadyn Allen, Makenzie Allen, Kaidyn Allen, Blakley Allen, Grayson Allen and Lawson Allen; three brothers, Chester Schexnayder and wife Shirley, of Bayou Rouge; Jerry Schexnayder, of Walker, La., and Dean Schexnayder and wife Cindy, of Bunkie, La.; two sisters, Rose Ray and husband Danny, of Krotz Springs, La., and Marlene Dentro and husband Anthony, of Denham Springs, La. and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Rev. Ollie M. Allen.
Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Okla. Also, a visitation was held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 and on Thursday, Dec. 28, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Pentecostal Church in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Internment will follow at Parkway Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Carol Allen Memorial Fund c/o American Airlines Credit Union, 12411 E. 96th St. N., Owasso, OK 74055.
