Bernice Joiner Bennett, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at her home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, and from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Barry Corbett will officiate.
She attended Kosciusko First Baptist Church. She was Postmaster for McAdams, Vaiden, Carthage, and Kosciusko. She was a very active member of her community that she loved.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Roy Bennett, Sr. of Kosciusko; sons, Roy (Tami) Bennett of Kosciusko and Todd (Julie) Bennett of Houston, TX; daughters, Toni Bennett (Jan) Burch of Carthage and Kathy Steen of Dallas, TX; 10 grandchildren, Andy (Jamie) Bennett, Kristopher (Allison) Bennett, Shane (Heather) Bennett, Michael Bennett, William Bennett, Miranda (Jonathan) Lemasters, Shawna Jones, Devin Smith, Jeffrey Steen, and Gencey Steen; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Joiner of Kosciusko; uncle, Tommy Sheffield of Gainesville, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Joiner and Wayne Joiner; and parents, Archie Dee and Juanita Sheffield of Joiner.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
