Amy Lois Black Norris Hutchinson was born October 28, 1925, to the late Robert and Anna Black of Attala County, and passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at the age of 91. At the time of death she was a resident of Plainview Assisted Living in Richland.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Edgefield Baptist Church near McCool. Rev. James Ellis and Rev. Walter Hines officiated. Burial was in Edgefield Cemetery.
Visitation was Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home and Tuesday at Edgefield Baptist Church from 10-11 a.m.
Amy was a long time resident of the McCool community and active in Edgefield Baptist Church. She spent most of her life in her kitchen cooking delicious meals for her family whom she loved very much. She was also a gardener and cared for her beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by parents, her husbands, Hollis Norris and Charles Hutchinson and one infant son.
She is survived by two sons, Roy Norris (Jo) of Pearl, Harry Norris (Jeanette) of McCool and one daughter, Janice Fowler McGarity (Jimmy) of Kosciusko; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren; one sister: Sara Brunt (Wilbur) of McCool, and one brother, Bobby Black (Myrtle) of McCool and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Plainview Assisted Living Center and St. Joseph Hospice Ministries of Clinton.
