Alice Covington, 68, passed away June 11, 2018, at her residence.
She was born August 30, 1949, in Kosciusko, MS, to the late Tommy and Willie B. Rimmer. She married L.C. Covington in 1975 and was a teacher.
She was a member, assistant financial secretary, building fund secretary, and trustee of First Baptist M.B. Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars Lone Star Chapter #601 and the National Council of Negro Women.
She is survived by her husband L.C. Covington; daughters, Tomya Covington, Lakresha Covington, and step-daughter Demetria Jamison; two grandchildren; one aunt; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at First Baptist Church on June 16, 2018, with burial in Parkway Cemetery. Pastor Lee Carson officiated.
Pallbearers were Michael Beamon, Darin Herron, James Miller, Jeremy Rayford, Antonio Rimmer, Eric Rimmer, Billy Roundtree, and Timothy Roundtree.
Myricks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
