Attala County Sheriff’s Department has received over $190K stemming from a 2014 narcotics seizure.
The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics along with the Sheriff’s Department wrapped up a year-long investigation, arresting nine suspects and seizing more than 118 pounds of cocaine. The investigation, called “Operation King Ivory,” also netted $1 million in cash along with assorted high-end vehicles and weapons.
“We are finally getting our portion of that cash from the government and I do expect to receive more,” Attala County Sherriff Tim Nail said.
The investigation began with undercover street level drug buys and morphed into a multi-agency investigation of a drug-trafficing organization with a distribution all over Mississippi connected to Texas.
John Davis and Kewancy Fair are the two Attala County men who were arrested in the investigation. They were charged with federal felony trafficking in October, 2014.
