On Saturday, Sept. 10, a group of Attala County pastors and citizens will present a dramatic presentation that chronicles a biblical truth, “For Such a Time as This,” following the theme Pray 2016.
The event will be held at the RV campground of Central Hills Baptist Retreat, located off Highway 19 north in the Springdale Community. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
The meeting room will be transformed into a courtroom to present “The ‘Church’ on Trial?” A “Courtroom of Heaven” unfolds with Rev. Grant Gregory of New Life Center sitting as representative of God the Just Judge, the Ancient of Days. Rev. Gene Richardson of Sallis Baptist Church will represent the Accuser of the Brethren who entices people to sin and then accuses them for their failures.
Rev. Jr. Davis of Williamsville Baptist Church will represent the Advocate who sits at the right hand of God and intercedes without ceasing. The bailiff will be Brent Busbea who calls for the witnesses to come forth and state their cases as to “What Do We Have to Repent Of?”
Portraying witnesses in the trial will be Rev. Steve Jordan, Not Knowing the God of the Bible; Rev. Mike Barrentine, We have Made a “god” of our own choosing; Mrs. Ginger Busbea, Forsaking God’s Moral Law. It Would be Better If; Rev. Shane Thrash, Abortion, the Shedding of Innocent Blood; Mrs. LaShonda Williams, the War is On, Spiritual Warfare; Rev. Jake Williams, We Are Fighting the Wong Battles-Each Other; Rev. Jim Garner, Prayerlessness, Rejecting Intimacy with God; Mrs. Brenda Mayo, Judgment, What is Happening to our Children?
Organizers of the event said, as our nation is in an upheaval of chaos on every front, we turned to the bible for a solution. There is only one answer to the dilemma ever given in all the history of mankind recorded in the scriptures, to repent of our national and personal sins and return to the authority of the God of the Bible as He reveals Himself.
There is no cost to attend. A love offering will be received. The “court” will begin at 8 a.m. following registration at 7:30. A mid-morning snack and light lunch will be served. Child care will be provided with registration required by an attending adult. Activities are expected to conclude at 1 p.m.
For registration by telephone call Brenda Mayo, 662-770-0454.
